How to Join

Please fill out the forms below and drop them off in person or mail them to the firehouse.

Why Join?

The Lawrenceville Fire Company is comprised of all volunteers. Some of the current volunteers are high school students, college students, teachers, police officers, mechanics, engineers, office professionals, mothers, fathers and more.

The fire company is always looking for new people to volunteer whatever services they can, be it as a junior member, active firefighter or an administrative member that helps with event planning.

Please feel free to stop by the firehouse any Wednesday night after 7:00 p.m. for a tour and to see how you could server your community. If your time is limited or Wednesday nights are bad for you, simply complete the application at your leisure and mail it to us. Someone from the fire company membership committee will contact you.

The Lawrenceville Fire Company currently offers three types of membership:

Junior Membership/Cadet Membership

This type of membership is open to residents of Lawrence Township age 14 to 17. A junior member’s activities at a fire scene are limited and hours of response are limited during school months. Junior member are encouraged to attend as many drill, training and company functions as possible. Upon turning age 18 the junior member will attend the fire academy and become an active member.

Active Member (Firefighter)

This membership is open to residents of Lawrence Township 18 years of age or older. An active member must be in good physical shape and pass a doctor’s physical. Upon complete of a Firefighter I course (186 hours) at the Mercer County Fire Academy (or other State approved Facility) you will become an active firefighter and respond to fire and other emergencies. You can even work your way up the ranks an become a line officer.

Administrative Membership

This membership is open to residents of Lawrence Township 18 years of age and older. Administrative members are not firefighters but they play an extremely important role in the day to day operation of the “business” of the fire company. There are no specific training requirements to become an administrative member. Administrative members can become company officers and participate in all company functions. If you have a special talent or skill that you think would benefit the fire company we ask that you please let us know about it and consider joining as an administrative member.
